Monday Mesh Matters
Well... it's been a good bit over a week since we met up at the GSARA Event. Since then, we've seen:
- Multiple new node installs going up
- New folks joining the Discord
- Website visitors (hi!)
- Discussions on standardizing builds
- Flying nodes
- Nodes in trees
- Node bots (see projects)
For apps:
I've been busy working on the python packet ingester, getting it ruggadized and optimized, and the map's had a couple tweaks. You can now get that sidebard out of your way, and monitor the "last packet".
Next up I want to see about building a proxy so that multiple apps can connect to one device, at least for receive. It's a bummer having one per app.
Mesh Health:
Things we're absoluthly hopping last weekend when, at times, I could see 150 nodes well into South Boston. There was some fun RF ducting happening on the VHF/UHF due to some weather, and LoRa certainly didn't miss out.
For the rest of the the week, the new nodes have really firmed up coverage on noisy (sunny?) days. Better SNR is over-coming more of the daily bustle. More text messaages were seen. DMs seemed much more reliable as well, I'm sure somewhat due to 2.6 spreading. All good!
What Else?
What have you been up to? Let us know. Shoot some feedback. Where are your nodes? Have a hill that NEEEEEEEEDs a node? Reach out.
